Celina Jaitley born on June 9th, 1981 in Kabul, the Capital of Afghanistan is a well-known Bollywood actress.
Her dad was an officer in the Indian Army and her mom, Meeta Jaitley was an Afghan model and an ex-beauty queen. Celina Jaitley, who is half-Indian and half-Afghani, grew up into a beautiful woman like her mother. She participated in several local beauty pageants before she was crowned Miss India in 2001.
The moment she won the crown, Celina Jaitley became an instant celebrity and attracted the attention of who’s who in Bollywood. Two years later, she made her Bollywood debut with “Khel” in 2003 and over the years has acted in several successful movies such as “Silsilay” {2005}, “Kaash Tumse Mohabbat Na Hoti” {2006}, “Shakalaka Boom Boom” {2007} and “Dulha Mil Gaya” and its sequel 2 in 2007. She has also danced to the tunes of ‘Bombay Vikings’ in “Zara Nazron Se Kehdo” musical video.
Movies and modeling wasn’t her cup of tea as she has long decided to follow in the footsteps of her father - to serve in the Indian Defense Services as a pilot. But destiny willed otherwise and here she is… making big waves in Bollywood. Celina Jaitley has also won Miss Margo Beautiful skin, MTV’s Most Wanted and Indiatimes Surfer’s Choice awards.
At last, Celina Jaitly is on the top, beating off competition from Mallika Sherawat and Koena Mitra.
Not in bagging item numbers in Bollywood, but in a recent poll conducted by a well-known media house to find out the sexiest actress in tinsel town.
Said a psychologist who was on the poll panel: “Celina has a very pretty face and a great body. She is very sensual and not over the top and she knows how to carry her sensuality. Her attitude just adds to the X-factor.”
The actress was shooting for an international project Love Has No Language in New Zealand when her friends sent her congratulatory text messages.
Celina said: “Yes, I did receive a lot of messages and I take the win as a compliment. My sex appeal lies in my face. It’s also a lot about the right attitude.”
Way to go, Celina! [via santabanta.com]
