Grand-daughter of Indian freedom fighter, lawyer, and former Justice Rajni Patel, Amisha, a Gemini, was born in Bombay’s Breach Candy Hospital on June 9, 1976. Her nickname is Angel. Her dad’s name is Amit, and her mom’s is Asha. She has a brother named Ashmit Patel. Both Amisha and Ashmit’s names contain the names of their parents.
She has many critics, who have described her as mediocre, but have since then bitten their lips when they were proved wrong by this petite, and beautiful actress – who has, and continues to enthrall her fans with a variety of performances on the silver screen.
Amisha is currently busy filming the new Kunal Kohli/Yash Raj project in which she’s co-starring Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan. Both Amisha and Rani are playing pivotal roles opposite Saif Ali Khan.
Amisha has just been signed for Neeraj Vohra’s new movie opposite one of Bollywood’s most popular comedy actors Govinda. Neeraj Vohra is a director best famed for his 2006 blockbuster Phir Hera Pheri.

After a string of flops, Amisha was once again seen in ‘Honeymoon Travels’ and the more recent Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’. We caught Amisha, who has been learning Salsa from Sandip Soparkar, attending a Soparkar dance event on Tuesday (October 23). When we asked the actor about where she had been all this while – well, we got this rather scathing reply:
“I think we are here to talk about dance so let’s stick to that. But I just had a release, ‘Honeymoon Travels’ 6-8 months back, so that question doesn’t really stand, ’cause I can’t have a release every month,” said Amisha.
Ouch. Looks like Amisha can get really touchy. We certainly agree with you, Amisha – and considering how your movies have been faring, having a release “every month” will probably not happen in this lifetime…

Amisha Patel is an intelligent girl but is she equally skilled actor? Looking at the list of recent her films it seems the gujju lass is running out of steam. Her Honeymoon Travels bombed at box office and the upcoming Bhool Bhulaiyaa promos don’t even feature her.
Though she has high hopes from the film it seems Priyan has completely sidelined her for current rage Vidya balan. This has made Amisha extremely upset with director and even the producers T. Series.
Amisha plays the lead actress opposite Akshay Kumar however the posters show her standing with character actors like Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Manoj Joshi and Paresh Rawal, whereas Vidya Balan is sitting pretty next to Akki despite being paired with Shiney Ahuja, the second lead.
According to sorces, Amisha was very upset when she saw the posters and immediately called Priyan but it was too late by then as all the posters were designed and sent for printing.
To add fuel to fire even the music CD covers carry the same design, so Amisha has decided not to promote the film.
