After churning out four hits in a row during 2007, Akshay Kumar is now charging over Rs 20 crore for a film.
Similarly, Akshay hit films during 2007 - the maximum by any actor in Bollywood - include HEYY BABYY ,NAMASTE LONDON, BHOOL BHULAIYA and WELCOME. And, according to industry sources, Akshay has hiked his price and signed the next film by Venus Records for a whopping Rs 22 crore.
The payments are going to be in 3 types which include a 20crore rupees package at the time of signup, 10crore rupees paid before the movie is released and 54percent partnership in the negative rights of the movie which makes the total movie a 50crore budgeted.
Akshay Kumar is now titled as the “One Man Industry”. He is compared to Rajnikanth - Superstar of the South Indian Films. Reason being every film of his has turned out to be a major hit.
“Bhool Bhulaiya” - his latest movie was as successful as Rajnikanth’s Chandramukhi. Also, “Welcome” his comic flick will turn out to be a blockbuster very soon.
The actor presently charges a whooping amount of 22 crores per film. To top it up all, his latest film with Venus has his fees touching a staggering 41 crores, hence making him the highest paid actor in the industry today.
